
Rukmini Devi Arundale College of Education (RACE) was established in the Academic year 1999-2000. RACE is affiliated to Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati and offers B.Ed.course (Bachelor of Education) . The academic year generally starts from November 21st.
A new Building with all the latest amenities to house the College was constructed on the Trust land located in the Shivalaym Road and declared open by Sri.D.Kodandapani, Correspondent on 18-08-2004.
General Requirements
- A candidate seeking admission for the B.Ed; Degree Course shall be required:
a) To have passed a Degree Examination of this University or an examination recognized by this University as equivalent thereto; with 45% of marks in the group subjects; however mere pass is enough for SC( Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribes) and in-service students of Directorate of Distance Education.
b) Admission in to the course is through Ed.CET conducted by the Government and
according to the rules of the same in force for regular students and according to NCTE norms
for DDE students.
To become a B.Ed., graduate, a candidate has to pass the examinations as prescribed here under:
Course of Study
Part A : Theory - 600 Marks.
Part B : Practical - 600 Marks.

Attendance
1. 80% of the attendance in theory classes is mandatory (in each course).
10% of attendance can be condoned on certified ill-health (no additional concession for women).
90% of the attendance at theory classes is compulsory and no concession is allowed for DDE students.
100% of attendance at demonstration, practice teaching internship is must.
2. The candidates who put up at least 50%of
attendance in theory as well as practical can be given casual
admission ![]()
during the next year, with the permission of the Registrar of the University concerned.
3. The monthly-consolidated attendance in each course will be put up on the Notice Board on 5th of succeeding
month in the College. A copy of the same is to be sent to the Chairman B.O.S, in Education (combined)S.V.University,
Tirupati, for record.
4. The trainees who absent themselves for a continuous period of 10 working days be served with a show-cause
notice by the Principal as to why his/her admission into B.Ed., should not be cancelled and act accordingly.
