Dr. B.R. AMBEDKAR OPEN UNIVERSITY STUDY CENTRE

The Centre, granted by the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University started functioning from 22-09-1991 with B.A. and B.Com., Courses in Telugu Medium. The following two categories of candidates are eligible for admission to the Centre.

Candidates without formal education, who have completed 20 years of age are

expected to pass the Eligibility Test conducted in March every year.

Candidates who have passed the qualifying intermediate Public

Examination of Andhra Pradesh.

Student Curriculum Counseling:

The Counseling work is limited to about 25 classes, held on Second Saturdays and all Sundays.

The classes run between 9-00 a.m. and 6-00 p.m. with lunch-break between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

The study material supplied by the Open University will be discussed with audio visual aids supplied by the University.

The Centre has been supplied with a colour T.V. set, a V.C.R. and several audio and Video tapes supplementing the study Material

Sri Venkateswara University started the Institute of Correspondence Courses(ICC) in the year 1972 to "extend the frontiers of academic beneficence beyond its campus" and to "reach the unreached". As per the UGC norms, the ICC was upgraded as the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) in 1995.

Though to begin with there were only two undergraduate courses, but the number of courses has gradually been increased from mere 2 to 23. They included two undergraduate courses, ten Post-Graduate courses, Two Professional courses, Three P.G.Diploma courses, and Six Certificate Courses. Plans are afoot to start some more courses such as M.B.A.,M.I.R.P.M.,M.A Public Relations etc.

For the benefit of local candidates, eight study centers came into existence and Madanapalli is one among them. A common Entrance Test for Admission is conducted every year. So, the needy candidates in and around Madanapalli can utilise this opportunity and continue their studies.

UNIVERSITY OF MADRAS-INSTITUTE OF CORRESPONDENCE EDUCATION:

We have applied to the ICE-University of Madras seeking Partner College Status (Study Centre). In all probability we will get the Study Centre shortly. The Institute offers a number of UG and PG Courses including MCA, MBA, B.L.I.Sc., M.L.I.Sc.,. We will upload the details as soon as we get the approval order from the ICE- University of Madras.
